CHBAR Health Campaign In Tringkap on the 11th December 2015

On the 11th of December, REACH organized a CHBAR health campaign for the people of Tringkap at the Tringkap Multipurpose Hall (Dewan Serbaguna Tringkap).

At 8:15pm, our REACH volunteer, Miss Melody Woon gave a talk on “Cameron Highlands Bebas Asap Rokok” in both Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin as an effort to create an awareness regarding the dangers and health hazards of smoking.

After the talk, Dr Liau Tai Leong from REACH took his turn to share about the Community Stream Investigation (CSI). His speech mentioned about the quality of the water in Cameron Highlands and the importance of preserving it.

The crowd then made their way to the various health booths that were set up in the hall. REACH provided free Influenza immunisation and water testing for the locals. The local health department from Tanah Rata provided screening for diabetes and cholesterol blood test.

Through this health campaign, we managed to reach out to and benefited over 80 people with free flu vaccines and many others. We are glad that the walkabout the day before had paid off.

We hope that the people would have been blessed by this campaign and will continue to choose to live a ‘tobacco-free’ life.
